On April 11 and 12, people and businesses from around the vacation rental industry descended upon Chicago for the annual Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA) Spring Forum.

VacayHome Connect was in attendance—our team had a wonderful time! The two-day event buzzed even more than usual: everyone was extremely excited to finally gather in person and discuss our thriving industry. It was long overdue!

With motivation, inspiration, and education in the air, VacayHome Connect announced a major donation to the VRMA Advocacy Fund. Indeed, the vacation rental industry has emerged from the pandemic with extraordinary gusto, but its preservation and future successes rely on us to join forces and cultivate that progress together.

VRMA has been the voice of the vacation rental industry since its inception in 1985.

Today, the organization provides best-in-class education, networking events, and professional development opportunities to an international membership base—all in an effort to elevate the industry and ensure top-notch guest and homeowner experiences.

The VRMA Advocacy Fund is an integral part of those efforts. According to VRMA, the fund was designed to:

“…Protect travelers’ rights to choose the type of accommodation they want, protect the rights of property owners to rent their vacation homes, and protect businesses’ rights to rent vacation properties.”

The VacayHome Connect donation to VRMA—and others like it—help the organization make a bigger impact on communities. VRMA relies on these funds to support its efforts in ending short-term rental rules that harm travelers, raise accommodation costs, and deny fundamental property rights.

“As a leader in the vacation rental industry, we are proud to work with VRMA and other industry influencers in representing property management customers and partners to advance their ability to safely and economically run their businesses and serve travelers,” VacayHome Connect CEO Sunil Aluvila said. “We realize that the need for advocacy resources is growing as the industry rebounds from the pandemic and vacation rentals gain acceptance among mainstream leisure travelers.”

Leaders throughout the industry have applauded VacayHome Connect’s commitment to providing financial resources to advocacy challenges.

“It is extremely satisfying to have partners such as VacayHome Connect raising the bar of professionalism in the vacation rental industry and investing in the viability of all vacation rental businesses,” VRMA Collaborative Committee Chair Toby Babich said.We look forward to having their active participation on the committee.”
